The further development of bilateral trade relations between Greece and China constitutes an obvious and reciprocal strategy for various reasons. The port of Piraeus has become an important gateway of Chinese products into the European market, while the promotion prospects of Greek products into China’s huge domestic market can be described as potentially favorable. The present article attempts to highlight specific Greek product sectors, whose exports to China are characterized by significant expansion trends in recent years, in order to finally evaluate the prospects of reorienting Greece’s export strategy towards the Asian superpower. The findings provide significant evidence for the need to re-orientate trade policy in Greece and boost exports of products that are directly related to the ever-growing consumer needs of Chinese households, with emphasis on food and household equipment products.
