Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The article under review has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration. Research papers such as Discussion Papers are excluded.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided, accompanied by date of last access.
  • The text has a 1.5 line spacing; uses a 12-point font (Arial, Verdana or Tahoma, preferably); employs italics, rather than underlining (except for URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The submission file does not include the author's personal data, nor any other data within the text indicating his identity, as those are submitted in an accompanying file. Additionally, properties and personal information have been removed from the file's Properties.

Author Guidelines

Original scientific articles should, as a rule, be 6,000-10,000 words, including references, Policy Issues 4,000 words, and Book Reviews 2,000 words.

The texts of the articles must include after the title an abstract (200-350 words), which will state the purpose and results of the article, as well as up to 7 keywords, in Greek and English or French.

Authors must submit an accompanying file, where they state: Personal information: Name, professional status, postal and e-mail address, telephone.

Submitted files must be in doc format and have the authors' personal information removed from it (by right-clicking on the file and selecting from the Properties menu the Details tab and Remove Properties and Personal Information). The file name must not contain personal information.

Text formatting guidelines

Text should be formatted with 1.5 spacing, font size 12, and 3 cm left and 2.5 cm right, top and bottom margins. Page numbering appears at the bottom, right-hand end of the footer, while footnotes should be strictly limited to necessary ones, in Arabic numbering.

Tables and figures are placed with caption and serial number within the text and are cited with sources, as are all illustrations (maps, charts, diagrams, photographs, etc.), which are called Figures.

Authors must follow the Harvard citation and citation format. If automatic bibliography is used through Office Word, the "Harvard - Anglia" style is selected.

Citations within the text are given in parentheses and include the author's surname, followed by the year of publication and - where necessary - the page(s) number.
