Abstract

The aim of this paper is to study Total Fertility Rates in Greece for the first years of the 21st century, by applied two methods: this of Bongarrts and Feeney and that of Kohler-Philipov. Since 2008 country faces a severe economic and social crisis, during which GDP per capita declined, unemployment increased, and social indicators turned to worse. Because an analogous crisis was faced in Portugal and Spain TFRs amongst these countries will be compared too. Also, analysis will be expanded in order to cover the NUTS1 areas of Greece. The results of the analysis indicate significant differentiation and analogies among the populations studied.
