Abstract

This article presents a review of Communication for Development and Social Change (CDSC), and its potential application to Greece. The field historically is concerned with the role of communication practices in improving the lives of people in the less developed economies. However, recent challenges, such as the global financial crisis have sparked discussions about the need to revisit definitions of development and the geographical scope of CDSC. By exploring the relevance of CDSC to Greece, this article aims to contribute to calls for ‘rebooting’ the field of CDSC with new theoretical and empirical approaches.
