The last few years a lot of research has been carried out on effective teaching in order to contribute to high quality education of teachers of physical education, which is considered essential for the improvement of teaching in class and the preparation of students for life in the twenty first century. Undeniably, the definition of characteristics which render a teaching method effective are essential for the field of education. The purpose of the present research was to record inquiring data on the elements that lead to effective teaching. Ten factors proved to be of great importance. The four more important ones that are most commonly met
involve: organisation and administration (21.36%), teaching strategies (20.51%), feedback (10.25%), and the positive- supporting environment of learning (9.40%). Factors as the planning of teaching (8.54%), flexibility (7.69 %), evaluation (6.83%), class control and discipline (6.83%), preparation the teaching (5.12%) and communication skills (3.41%) were also found of essential importance. The process of improving teaching effectiveness does not simply depend on the operation of a reliable set of rules and behaviours. It is rather a whole mechanism, which in order to be effective relies on the contribution of numerous factors. The findings mentioned above shed light on these factors and constitute a source of ideas as well as a useful guide both for the novice and the experienced teacher, so that they can plan, organise and realize their work successfully.
