Dance and Performance Theory: Aspects of the Performance Cultural Practices. A Review Study

Dance researchers never seized to listen and validate the theoretical directions of the various theoretical domains that ascend during various time periods to be studied. Undoubtedly, during the recent years, a turn to a different approach to dance is observed since all the more new sociological theoretical trends are being applied. The objective of the present work is to appoint the research that is related to the performance theory focusing mainly on those which are related to dance. From the overview was concluded that dance researchers utilize the theoretical base of performance by emphasizing reflexivity, intersubjectivity and the dramatical view of the performing act. In parallel, the significance of studying dance within the performing analysis terms is prominent, as dance is classified as event, as a product of different genres and acts.
