Abstract

The purpose of the project was to investigate the impact of the interdisciplinary teaching approach on attitudes and intentions of high school students in visiting museums and understanding the Odyssey events in chronological order. The sample of the study consisted of 334 students (187 boys & 147 girls) of the first grade of Gymnasium, who completed a specially designed questionnaire. The data analysis revealed that the students' participation in the program had a positive effect on the attitudes and intentions of the students to visit the museums and to understand the Odyssey events in chronological order. The findings of the present study support the view that a cross-curricular program combining the practice and teaching of the Ancient Greek Secretariat within a museum environment can enhance learning and create positive attitudes and behaviors in multiple-benefit experiential programs.
