Abstract

The aim of this study was to design, develop and assess training material, compatible with the distance
learning methodology in the scientific field of football, for the professional needs of female Physical Education teachers who stand in need of training in the specific sport. The content of the present educational material was formed according to the curriculum requirements of the 5th and 6th class of primary school and the main field of its application is the training of female Physical Education teachers in primary education. After the development of the first issue of the educational material, in written and digital form, a formative evaluation was carried out and certain suggestions concerning the filling out parts of the written material came up as its result. Following the corrective interpositions and the final development of the educational material a pilot study of a distance learning program was carried out where the material was the main source of learning material among a group of thirty female Physical Education teachers aiming at its final evaluation. According to the results of ANOVA with repeated measures, participants scored higher in the knowledge test after the usage of educational material (p < .001). In the first evaluation the average was 11±1.98 and in the second evaluation was 22.63 ± 3.45 (difference of 11.63 points). On the other hand, the questionnaire analysis showed that the educational material is suitable for the distance education of female PE teachers in soccer (positive opinions 87%).
