Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the passive and active recovery practices used by swim Greek coaches’ as well as their respective beliefs. Sixty-two coaches of both genders from 21 different regions volunteered to complete the online survey after a pilot study. The questionnaire included free-text comments, 5-point Likert scale and open-ended responses. Participants reported the use of a combination of passive and active recovery practices that were individualized and differentiated according to the competitive distance. Also, information regarding the motives and the barriers during the application of recovery practices is presented. The data presented here could be useful for educational purposes and also serve as guidelines for recovery protocols design.
