Abstract

In the following article a comparison is set out, between the concept of tourism and sport tourism, recreation and sport animation, as they appear in Greece. Their correlation indicates that the common element in these phenomena is the presence of spare time and the quest for remarkable experience. There are many types of recreation in Greece, and many more will emerge, because the vast majority of the public wants to invest on an interesting and high quality free time. Animation in Greek hotels is one option of recreation, that strengthens the experience of tourism however it completes its circle of life. At the same time, the whole product of athletic recreation and tourism in Greece is beginning to get depreciated due to the environmental disaster, and the negative influence of outdoor activities and tourism infrastructure. There are many chances of reversing the impact of product improvement, since active vacations are an integral part of life. Research and consideration of athletic and tourism services in the country is suggested in the article, as well as strategic planning on the field.
